The Trust, which is dependent on grants and philanthropy, has over 35 years’ experience in delivering complex projects that repair and re-use listed buildings. We have a range of properties with office space, meeting rooms for hire and community venue facilities, alongside others we are working to restore, renovate and reinstate to the community.

Custom House
Edinburgh, Leith
Custom House Leith is an imposing Georgian building being brought to life after 30 years of under use. SHBT was brought on board to lead its regeneration and restoration in 2015 and since then it has become a thriving hub for creative arts.
Riddle's Court
Edinburgh, Old Town

Strathleven House
Dumbartonshire
Built in 1700, Strathleven House it is attributed to the Palladian pioneer, James Smith, the most significant Scottish architect of his time. It is A-Listed and considered the earliest surviving example of the classic Palladian country house in Scotland.
St Ninian's Manse
Edinburgh, Leith
St Ninian’s Manse was constructed in the late 1600s played a vital role in the development of the Leith area. It contains masonry from the only pre-reformation building to survive in the area and is an unusual example of a 17th century clergy building associated with an
urban church.
Laws Close
Kiracaldy
Law’s Close is a category A-listed 16th Century Merchant’s House with spectacular period decoration on Kirkcaldy’s High Street. The building’s prominent location offers views across the Firth of Forth and access to a landscaped garden and open air performance space at the rear.
Station Hotel
   Ayr
Built in 1886 to designs by Andrew Galloway for the Glasgow and South Western Railway,
the hotel is in the French Chateau Style. It was described as ‘A Castle in Ayr’ when
it opened catering for the newly mobile Scots looking for a holiday along the coast.
